As a longstanding archaeologist herself, Dr. Jones wanted to incorporate fun, education, and adventure into Indya the Archaeologist to educate young readers about archaeology while inspiring them to explore the world. A fictional story that introduced real scientific facts in an engaging way!
Previously, Dr. Jones was an archaeology educator for 16 years, and worked for the PBS tv show Time Team America where she created programs for junior high and high school students. Currently, she is the president of The Society of Black Archaeologists, and is very passionate about making archaeology accessible.
